Thanks! She could now walk for 9 weeks--a bit paralyzed. It is sad that it takes so long to get surgery for that and they still consider it to be elective surgery! It should be immediate surgery. Her nerves were being crushed

Its like older folks are considered second class when it comes to surgery. It takes years to have joint replacement surgery in NS, even if you have painful bone on bone conditions.

I was talking with a nurse who works in a nursing home. The medical profession is slowly changing its mind in that regard. They're starting to see that people need quality of life regardless of age. A friend of mine's mother had her hip replaced at 91. She just turned 92 & is zipping all over the place.
