I know this is a stupid question but, can fire ants be destroyed by fire????

YES!! if you spray/mist them with rubbing alcohol and then flick a bic ,they will pop like pop-corn when the flame front gets to them.
Do NOT try this on wood or in a grassy area, also this just might set off newer fire alarms that do see blue flame.

I, for one, would not even think of that as psychopathic behavior. Seems kinda normal to me.

I was mentally trying to add up the thousands of times I have been stung by those things in my life time.
They don't do it on an individual scale. They wait until thirty are on you, someone blows the starter whistle and you're doing the 'owowgetemoffme' dance.
We can call it revengeful behavior.
