We have a "blankety- blank" Sycamore tree that doesn't dump most of it's leaves till winter - well past free leaf pickup days.

I used to hunt when we lived in the UP, I wonder how Miss Wiggles is doing?
Now we have a friend that is over eager and will fill tags if we give him ours, it's easier on all concerned that way.
We have 3 of those 'da*n' Sycamore's that are over 30 ft tall and a real pain what with all those big leaves and branches fall willy-nilly.

And it's still raining, not hard, but raining none the less.

Scott oh yes, the branches. Every day I have to make a sweep to pick up the big ones so I won't have a mound of them when the lawn guy shows up.

I read somewhere that butcher block is made from Sycamore trunks because they don't split. So why are their branches so fragile?

Because the leaves are so darn big. I hate raking sycamore leaves. It is like trying to manage a yard full of paper plates.

Thanks Eggsy, I'll take that as a compliment! No, KS isn't considered southern, it's pure Midwestern. Funny though...my cousins in California always said I had a southern accent. Maybe the stork dropped me off in the wrong state.
