BYC Café

It startles you if you are not used to a squirrel running around on you!

I bet!!

How come you guys all come here for fantasy coffee & treats? But I'm supposed to be the crazy one!:plbb :lau:gig

My pies are plenty real, just look at the half empty tray :lau

Fantasy treats are fantastic when a person is on a diet. No calories!

Unfortunately mine has plenty of calories :lau

funny how we bond I am closer to Fear the gsd we rescued than snow hour pyr want to be

Maybe because the GSD is somewhat similar to the Belgians? Another shepherd?

I used to want a Westie, still might some day or a Border Terrier or Cairn. All seem great. But I don't think a terrier is the right dog right now. Although Soft Coated Wheatens seem pretty mellow but they're rare.

I think I might get a Golden, Lab, Aussie, or Samoyed next. But I have a lot of breeds I want.

Kind of like chickens...there's plenty of breeds out there to choose from!

Exactly! Makes it hard to narrow it down! But I do love retrievers. We have always had retrievers or retriever mixes so I am used to them. But I started considering the herding breeds or even Malinois because their drive, work ethic, desire to learn, etc. Was really impressive and they will do anything, which is important cause I'm really into training - any and all. Tricks, obedience, dog sports, etc. As well as wanting to hike, bike, boat/swim, etc. with them. But then I realized that a retriever can probably do all that just as well and has a goofy, fun personality too instead of being all serious or taking work too seriously. As well as the fact that they don't necessarily HAVE to do a million activities whereas other breeds need that job to not go crazy and eat the house. Of course, retrievers still need a ton of exercise, but idk, I just feel like they're more manageable or maybe I'm just more used to them cause I've always had and been around them. But that's a big reason why I'm not getting a Malinois because they are like GO GO GO/let's work/need a job/wanting to be doing something all the time 24/7 and I don't think I could handle that. Granted, there probably are ones being bred with a good off switch but most aren't like that, at least that I'm aware of. Plus the protective factor. Although I guess that might be good if I ever move somewhere by myself or hike alone, etc. Cause retrievers aren't exactly the most protective dogs in the world but still. Although all of that said, I think I am going to have to put the dog search on hold for a while because I want to move to Pittsburgh and there are usually size/weight limits and I plus I need to get another job and save up so it wouldn't be fair to a dog.

Sorry, there I go rambling about dogs again :lau

I could talk about dogs/animals for hours in case you haven't noticed

Are you practicing for Thanksgiving Kelsey? :D

LOL can never start practicing too early! :D

Though tbh the good organic pumpkin and pumpkin pie mix cans were on sale at Market Basket one day so I got them and the canned milk. In a way though, I am practicing making it so it's easier when I use my own pumpkins :D

Idk when to start preparing those though. Want to leave them as decoration for a little longer but also don't want them to go bad. But Thanksgiving is still a ways away. I guess I could make the puree soon and freeze it?? Then make an awesome fresh pie for Thanksgiving. :D

Seems like freezing the puree would work (but I've never done it).

Pumpkin pie is good any time of year!
