Seems like freezing the puree would work (but I've never done it).

Pumpkin pie is good any time of year!

I might try it and see how it goes, can't hurt.

And that's true! But I want to save some of the pumpkins to impress people at Thanksgiving. :D

I am positive that fresh pumpkin will be better than canned pumpkin but since I already bought the cans I do have to use them. Hopefully it will taste pretty good. Although none of my chickens are producing right now and I had to use store eggs :hit :sick

They better start producing so I have some eggs for the Thanksgiving pies!! :rant

I'll be your official taste tester, send all practice entries to me! :lau

Wanna taste test my apple pie too? Making that next :lau

I can just imagine what pumpkin pie would look like by the time Kelsey mailed one from Mass. all the way down to Texas :gig

Probably not great :lau

I've never made one from fresh pumpkin, only canned... made other pies from fresh fruit, like peach, cherry, lemon, apple, key lime.

Was it good? Tbh I mostly added that third paragraph about the canned vs fresh because I was a little embarrassed using canned given NFC and others are such expert bakers
