I'll get them in the mail ASAP :gig

That makes me feel better then!! I've never grown pumpkins until this year so it's a bit of a new venture. But not sure I'll do it again, they took over the backyard and nearly grew to the deck!! If I grow them again, I'm considering a new location
Pumpkins need to be pruned back to the first bulb (what will become the pumpkin) on each vine that the plant produces, at the most only 2 bulbs.
That way it will produce bigger pumpkins, just not as many as it would if you let the vines grow everywhere and long.

A trick I learned is freeze in chunks, defrost and drain well. I only use fresh pumpkin for pies and buy ours as soon as they're available.

So just chop it up and freeze it? Don't cook/mash/puree it? And yeah, fresh is probably better but idk if the pumpkins will last that long?

Hmmm... maybe that's why most of the pumpkins were so small :/ my dad did mow them back a couple times but I guess not enough.

:eek:Gasp! :gig

That is a beautiful picture. Don't sell yourself short.

Thank you!

Cook it, boil or steam, in cubes until just fork tender. Still a little firm in the center and tgen rinse in cold water and drain. Then freeze. After you defrost and drain you can puree.

Tried the pie
