BYC Café

Due to the kids not being in school, they're staying up later, so we've all been able to sleep in more. Unlike most parents, I've always dreaded when school starts.

That's exactly how I felt when my 2 boys were young. I loved it when they were out for the summers or school vacation days! No homework, no getting them up super early to catch the bus...everything was always more relaxed. Plus, the 3 of us got to do fun stuff together!

Good afternoon cafe. I haven't done a thing today, but I did make an afternoon pot of coffee :)
I've been chilling with the dogs and watching bad movies today. I'm having an Eggo with butter and apple jelly on it for a snack. I feel so lazy, but I kinda don't care :idunno

A lazy day is a good day (unless it becomes a way of life and then you're in trouble)

I have 3. I've owned Dobermans since 1995. I've had 5 total. All rescues. I've had as many as 3 at once. I got hooked on the breed with my first girl who was my jogging partner.
They suffer from dilated cardiomyopathy more than all other breeds combined and that is how I lost 3 of them. The first male I had that died from it was heart wrenching. To honor his memory and try to recover from the loss I joined a miniature pinscher rescue to do transports and foster dogs. I was never a fan of little dogs. Always called them ankle biters. Until my first foster. I've never seen so much personality stuffed in such a small package.
I found a wonderful home for the first girl then got the second on the end leg of a 7 hour transport. I knew on the way home I'd keep her and I still have her. Fuji. Short for fugitive. She owns that name.

I lost my father very unexpectedly a little over a year ago. Hence my struggles with 2018. I took one of his dogs, a little rat terrier mix named Skittles. I've got the boys out running with me now.
Cute little rascals. Sorry to hear of the lost of your father, :hugs I lost my dad in 2009. I took in his dog Taz, she passed away 2 years later, at 18 yrs. Both were tough, hard to handle losses. :hit
