Good morning, Café, and thanks, Shad. Grabbed an early cup before heading out into the maze of the forums - back for another. Skipping the croissants, thanks anyways.

I have 3. I've owned Dobermans since 1995. I've had 5 total. All rescues. I've had as many as 3 at once. I got hooked on the breed with my first girl who was my jogging partner.
They suffer from dilated cardiomyopathy more than all other breeds combined and that is how I lost 3 of them. The first male I had that died from it was heart wrenching. To honor his memory and try to recover from the loss I joined a miniature pinscher rescue to do transports and foster dogs. I was never a fan of little dogs. Always called them ankle biters. Until my first foster. I've never seen so much personality stuffed in such a small package.
I found a wonderful home for the first girl then got the second on the end leg of a 7 hour transport. I knew on the way home I'd keep her and I still have her. Fuji. Short for fugitive. She owns that name.

I lost my father very unexpectedly a little over a year ago. Hence my struggles with 2018. I took one of his dogs, a little rat terrier mix named Skittles. I've got the boys out running with me now.

Thanks for sharing a picture, the little ones look cute napping on the chair. A cousin of mine did greyhound rescues for years...very challenging and rewarding work.

Sorry about the loss of your father. I lost mine in 2010 and still miss him.

Thanks for the coffee. I need that. It's going to be warm out today, and tomorrow, but will rain on Saturday so the temps will drop, but will be very tolerable.

Due to the kids not being in school, they're staying up later, so we've all been able to sleep in more. Unlike most parents, I've always dreaded when school starts.
