BYC Café

Good morning, Cafe. Thank you for the coffee, Shad.
Yes, Sour, let us know when you pick up Dani this morning how she is doing.
We've got a glorious day up on deck here in the Southern Tier of NY! After carting DH off to a couple of appointments it's back to run construction.
I got brave last night and left the chick pop doors open to the main coop.
My bravery dwindled as dawn approached so I went out to the coop at 5:00 before anyone was off the roost. Everyone is fine. What a worry wart. I have visions of the HBIC having cornered a little and pummeled her bloody or worse. There is no logical reason for her to do this. I've seen nothing but BAU pecking order stuff going on.
The littles are venturing out of the coop more and more. There are a few who haven't braved the big bad world yet. Then there is that merry band of 6 that are always leaving and running around the coop. I intend to leave all doors open today so the littles can interact with the bigs as much as they want.

Everyone, have a great FRIDAY!! :woot

Shad, how's your girl this morning? Is her eye better? Thanks for the coffee

Sour, keep us posted on Dani...I know you're looking forward to having her home.

Tonya, hope the run construction goes well today.

Fudge stopped with me overnight. Gave her a clean up and inspection this morning. I can't see any eye damage thankfully but I'm not so confident about her ear.
Had a 'be out' trial run this morning that didn't go very well.
She's out with her tribe atm which are under a bush just outside my front door so I can keep an eye on things. If they move off, she will have to come back inside.

AT 12:27 AM Goldenways Dances With the Stars aka Dani died. :hit Much tears here. The Princess is devastated, and all I can do is :hugs. This was 'her' dog.

Vet called at 10 to warn me that things had taken a turn for the worse. Heart rate and BP were good, hematocrit was good, but she was fading. She died on a blanket beside him - not in a cage. He spent the night with her so she was not alone. To quote the Princess, "He's just a good man."

Why did she die ? He is baffled. About 3 weeks ago we thought that she was going to die one night - lethargic, no appetite, shallow breathing - that all caused the visit to the vet where the tumor was discovered. In 24 hours she appeared normal. :idunno Perhaps she was having mini strokes and then just had a major embolism. Whatever for the first time in nearly 55 years we no longer have a dog in the house.

G'morning cafe :frow

Shad, thanks for the coffee, I'm also wondering about Fudge, any improvement over night?

Dobie I hope your day is fabulous!

Sean thanks for the tacos, yuuuuumy!

NFC I always wonder why those goofy little birds don't just fly to avoid the hot ground. I can sure tell you why they they run!

Happy Friday everyone :clap
