This nest box was made from a potato bin I bought cheap at a thrift store.

I ripped off the back, and lifted off the top, which was made to sit on top. Added two pieces of wood on top to make it private. One piece will lift off for egg removal.

I put a board across the end to keep the eggs from rolling out. This will sit on the floor, since the Polish do not like to use high nest boxes.

That's awesome! I like the door you made. I bet those trees are great in the summer. Does it stay shady most of the day?

Mornin', y'all!

Mega muggy out there this morning, at least the heavy cloud cover has kept the temperature down a bit. It's hard to believe it's as late as it is; the low light levels make it seem like barely past dawn. As usual, I just can't seem to wake up.

But, at least I have a fun project to motivate me. A friend has commissioned me to make costumes for her Pig Derby, and the first race is a couple of weeks away. Tell me "make something," and I may be at a total loss, but give me parameters and a deadline to keep me focused, and I can create . . . what kind of results I produce remains to be seen.

Oooooooo I hope we get to see pictures!
