Morning All! Up early to take the DS$ off to a leg clinic. You all need more coffee, I can tell! A leg clinic for wrestling moves. A two day event and he gets to hang with his big brother overnight.
Here is my forecast for tonight, believe it or not! Now it is perfectly normal to get these winds, just not every week!
. Very windy, with a west wind 22 to 32 mph increasing to 36 to 46 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 80 mph.
Pretty wacky! I haven't moved all of the snow away from the last time....... It is getting to the point where it is not in anyone's best interest to bother with a dug path. It just makes the drift higher, so I just hack steps into the snow and sprinkle fireplace ashes on them for grip.
But anyway, gotta get ready for the day. Have a wonderful one and enjoy!

Mtn. Margie - I don't know how you do it! I hate wind...add huge snow drifts and I just wouldn't leave the house. Maybe even my bed!

Everybody - Good morning! I have to go to work. Been feeding a group of 75 Koreans since Friday dinner. Two more meals to go!

I need to go to the metabolism store and pick one up.

I apparently wasn't paying attention to that part of animal science.
I remember the chart from the overhead projector..., and chickens were on the far right and the young male chickens were under pullets...
and I think I must have said to myself, 'eh, I got this I'm good.' And I wasn't, cause I don't know.)

Good morning all! My Parents came over to visit yesterday evening, and while there my youngest brother made me new nesting boxes for my barn. All of us siblings are getting togeather to buy my parents two new easy chairs. My brother just turned 20 so he cannot easily afford that. So I told him nesting boxes were well worth 200 dollars to me

Well, I "think" basically... Rooster just refers to males, but some don't like the term (I believe in the "show world", the term is a no-no). Cockerel is under a year, cock is a year or older. Pullets are females under a year, hen over a year.

Napoleon has that "little big man" complex....

At his age, Napoleon already thinks he's "cock of the walk?" I see where he got his name - gotta love those little guys with the big attitudes!

At one time, I had an Old English Bantam roo' in a pen with assorted hens and an Easter egger roo. The little guy aggravated the big one no end - he'd attack him from behind, and be gone before the bigger bird had time to turn around. Every once in a while, though, he'd get a bit too big for his spurs, and the big bird would teach him a lesson . . . . and there would be peace in the pen for a few days. Before long, the little squirt would start his pestering again. I finally had to give him a pen of his own; I was afraid one day I'd find him Resting In Peace.

I have a couple OEGBs too. 2 males and a female. I've got a few males I need to get rid of.

My sis-in-law took one of my huge extra lavender orpington boys. That bird is a gentle giant, but he is scared of her banty roos. Its so funny. Poor Romeo doesn't realize he makes 10+ of those little guys.

I have been so busy getting the house cleaned and the decorations out... That since this morning I warmed up the same cup of coffee in the mircowave five times.
I am finally drinking it.
But it isn't so good.
I should just swagger over to the BYC micro brewery and get a beer.
