Another scorcher here yesterday, gonna be another one today! 103°, 104° heat index 107° to 110°
It's already 85° @ 8:25 ...oh well, just summer time in Texas.

No rain here again so I guess it is firewood and either today or tomorrow, getting the DS$ set for school. Oh well...

Good morning, Cafe.
Rain is expected here. Along with another thunderstorm. We've lost power twice in one week because of storms. I hope we won't this time.
Mom is out of the hospital and home. On oxygen. I hope she doesn't blow the house and herself to kingdom come when she starts smoking again... which would be right about 2 minutes after my sister got her settled in at home.

I hope she does not smoke again!

Good morning, café. Had over an inch of rain this weekend, but with it came some crazy hail. We didn't get any at home, thank goodness. Have seen quite a few pictures of people with golf ball sized hail and much damage. Windows broken, metal roofs destroyed and plenty of crops gone to the birds. Only one of our hayfields got hit, lucky for us!

Got a lot of August b-days in our family and I love, love, love birthdays. I start telling everyone a month in advance so they do not forget. This year is a little different without ma around. Hers is 4 days after mine. Just one of those things, I guess. Always going to be something.

Hope everyone is doing well! Sounds like I should never ever complain about heat again I would fall to bits in 114 degrees. Was 41F when I got up this morning!

I could do with some of that 41F stuff.
This morning was lovely, around 70F with a cool breeze blowing up the valley.
By mid day it was back up in the 90's. Not as extreme as a few days ago but still too hot to want to do a lot.

Margie, when do your boys go back to school? Kids around here are headed back this Wednesday (Aug. 15). eta: guess I'm still messed up on dates...Aug 15 is a Thursday

Sean & IM hope you all get a break from the heat before much longer...it's been blazing for you guys this summer!

Meg, glad you didn't get any destructive hail. We've had a couple of rains this past week but as usual, we needed them.

Shad, I feel your pain with the mosquitos...nasty creatures Our mosquito season seems to be pretty much over and we're in the midst of fly season.
