It's actually safer at the dog park than trails for us right now. We have rattlesnakes, scorpions, etc here not to mention mountain lions that live in the places we could hike. The park allows the dogs to get out and really run. Plus they have friends there they like to run and play with.

Also, Igor is not capable of hiking. He's had back surgery with spinal fusion and needs new knees.

Oh wow that sounds scary!! No wonder you prefer the park!! Haha and sorry about Igor. :hugs

And I think it depends it on the park. I actually don’t really like all the never ever go to parks ever stuff I’ve read by a lot of trainers and breeders and stuff because I think it varies a lot and some parks are actually quite nice and safe. I think everyone knows their park best and some of them are lovely. Yours sounds like one. But then of course something like this could happen at any moment. You just never know. But hopefully that dog isn’t there often? Haha

:rant:mad::tongue:smackWhere is the mutt and his no brain owner? How dare they mar Franks perfect body. I should go with you guys and carry my Ka-bonger- whatever, from some TV old cartoon show. I'd knock them both into next week.

Moving right along a lot of folks use the utility easement on the north side of my property as a dog park. Some lady had a mastiff I never saw before and I asked if I could pet him. She told me, "he would love it." So I have a new friend "Baxter," the dog, don't know the lady's name. Besides he peed on the worst of the weeds, hope that takes them out - so I don't need roundup.

:lau x2 on the first part!

And aw that is awesome!!

PS Baxter had a little saddle bag and I could see his owner had bagged up his debris. What a really nice lady. Wonder what Baxter would like for Christmas.

I used to put an array of squeaky toys, tennis balls, and nylabones in the center of the kennel. One by one I would let a dog out to pick what they wanted. Most wanted tennis balls or squeaky toys. My old blind girl like the squeaky toys because she could hear where they landed, etc. The ones that didn't like to fetch picked the nylabones - kept the dogs quiet for hours. What was funny was they knew to take ONLY one item, and they did.

Probably because after they took their item their m0uth was full...

@sourland at least you got to come in from beating the bushes!

@DobieLover sorry your hubs didn't make it home for lunch. Great excuse to go back when the fall colors are showing though. I hope you'll share pics, we get no color change here.

:lauThanks DD. I hope he doesn't end up with a scar. The people who see Pit Bull already avoid him so a scar would make that worse. He's such a love bug.
