Really I would never have thought to eat one.
Trappers made stew of them......waste not want not.....

So you could make Dog food from them or do you just put the carcass back to nature?
I have no idea what my brother does with the carcasses.....dog food would be a good idea...smoked

When I was a kid, and someone was freaking out about doing some type of public speaking thing, my mother used to say, "if they kill you, they can't eat you." I guess that was supposed to be reassuring? With chickens - oh, yes, they can, and they probably will, too!

Yes they would, without any qualms. Cats too. Back when I was single and it was just me and the cat. The cat and I had an agreement: If we were ever starving, I got to have kitty stew. But if I died suddenly, and was not found for days, she could eat my eyes. The cat agreed to this, I think because she liked her chances ;)

Thank you! I always had a couple friends who disagreed, and said their cats loved them and would never think of eating them if they died...I didn't argue the point. I know mine would, probably wouldn't wait for me to get cold.

People around here hunt and eat cougar. I always thought it would be gross. Bear is good if they have been gorging themselves on grass and berries. If you get them after a big salmon run they taste nasty. Mostly I like beat made into sausage or ground meat for spaghetti or chili.
