Here once you get a real snow that blankets everything, it feels like it has been there forever. I know I forget what plain ground looks like.

Bad thing for this year is I could always count on wearing my fleece lined denim jeans from LLBean. But I haven't see any in their catalog or on line this year. Flannel lined does not count, it doesn't wear well and is a waste of money - to me anyway.

Lands End made some many years ago, I still have the pair. Too big for me now. At least they fit then. Bean's always leaves enough room for two behinds and industrial width thighs. Doesn't matter how many women have brought this to their attention. While the men's product comes in many fits. Men's products are made better with better fabric.
I have ordered from them (and LE) since the 90's.

Ruffles and Mel are getting ready to take their chicks back to the tribe coop to roost instead of their respective maternity units. Ruffles took her daughter who is now about two thirds the size of her mum (I don't name any chickens until they've been integrated into the tribe coop) to the bottom of the coop ramp tonight and then turned back. If her last home goings are anything to go by it will take at least three of these trial runs before Ruffles will try to encourage her daughter in.
Mel's chicks on the other hand are tiny and much younger than Ruffles's chick.
I'm not sure what will happen if they both decide to go for it on the same evening.
I've got a few difficult evenings ahead. Once they've gone back to the tribe coop for two or three nights that's been it in the past. But, in those early days the chick often make a bolt for what has been their home since hatch, or, which is a complete nightmare, go up a tree.

:yesss: I'm so proud of you!!! :clapPS. nothing wrong with PB & toast as long as the PB is 'clean' & the bread is wholesome.

Thank you!! Definitely took a lot of failing first and still do sometimes but working on it lol

And thanks! That’s good. :)

It wasn’t though. :hide

But maybe I should get some healthy PB & bread lol

The love of my life "Meatball" is winding down & I'm having a hard time with it. He's 12 & I just cant figure out were all that time went. Trying to give him as much love, comfort & quality time in his last (year? months? weeks? days?) as possible.

One good thing about old, small dogs... They're easier to carry up the porch steps & onto the bed than a big dog is. See how positively positive I am.
You might be lucky and he'll go to sleep one night and just not wake up. Two lovely dogs have died like that here. It's very sad but far better than weeks of illness and pain and then having to have the vet put the dog down.

My dogs are the loves of my life as well. You're so right, little dogs are easier carry, not to mention they take less bed when they sleep with you!

Agreed. This is definitely what I’m hoping for. A lifetime of dogs & that’s only happened once when I was a little kid. I’m hoping The Dog Gods will have pity on me just this one time.

:hugs

Yeeeeaah... none of my dogs (nor the cat) got the memo on this.

I think once they get me completely pushed to the edge of the bed I should get up & move to the opposite side.

What kind of pup is Meatball? I'm sorry to hear he's going downhill :hugsRough part of life for animal lovers. I bet he's had, and will continue to have, a great life with you!

I feel in the interests of gender fairness that I should point out that in my case at least, I do not pee on everything.
For example, I learn't very quickly not to pee anywhere near electric fencing.
There are lots of other places I don't pee as well; in the fridge, or on the cooker to site just two examples.
:lau I'm glad you could come up with a few examples of where not to go. The electric fence is a good one

He’s a pug. My first. We got him when we lost our first (after marriage) dog. I was very pregnant & trying to take care of two young kids & the grief was immense. I believe he saved my life. Turned out he had doggy Aspergers, so I think I ultimately saved his life too. He’s never left my side since I brought him home, never. When I leave the house he waits by the door for me.
