To you used to minus lots temeratures I'm going to make myself look like a complete wimp but the temperature here just hit 50F. One more degree lower and I go into hibernation mode.
I cleaned my windows today. It was getting dark in here.:lau This is the last of the evening sunlight.

I like a bit of art, well a lot of art to be honest. The two pictures below were done for me by local artists. That's supposed to be me sitting on the log with the ducks.
I arranged a swap with the women who did the Picasso style picture; lamp for another picture. Rumor has it she'll be coming back here for Christmas so I might get my new picture.

Nice artwork!

It does seem rather political unfortunately. Also I noticed tonight one breeder I like just had a litter with this dog I have seen all over the place. Doesn’t seem like there could possibly be very much genetic diversity going on if everybody is using this dang dog!! I’m sure he is a wonderful dog but come on! Is that common?
Some breeds get ruined by using one stud too much.

Sure have that to t6hink on the Tervuren in America many came from the first stud here but he seized guess what so did allot of the get in years after no one would speak of it tried to hide it and did for 25 years

One of the "dirty little secrets" of the Lionhead rabbit breed is a seizure disorder. I don't know if anyone knows where it comes from or even how common it is, since some rabbits just freeze up for a few moments when they have an episode, and if you aren't looking at them at the time, you'd miss it. White rabbits with blue eyes seem to often have this issue, too, though it doesn't seem to put a brake on their popularity.

lol Yep. My sort of boat. A bit like the 16' & 18' skiffs they sail on Sydney Harbour.

Maybe exactly like some of those boats on Sydney Harbour. When my husband told me the 49er was designed and constructed by an Aussie boatbuilder, my response was, "why am I not surprised?":gig

lol I know, right! Light rig, all the sail area you can carry & fast!

We lived next to the sailing club when I was a kid [hence no wonder I started early] & the national *sharpie* championships got held in our bay one year. Not as fast as your skiff or your 49er but a cap on sail area for a 3 man crew & 3 wires so certainly an exciting boat to race.

The thing about Sydney summers is you can swelter all day but the temperature will plummet once the *southerly buster* comes through @ 30~35k, usually in the late afternoon. We had very light nor'easterly winds so everyone had stripped their rig right down & were carrying maximum sail area & their biggest kites. Then the southerly hit. Man! Those things blew apart like matchsticks! There were bits of boat all over the bay! It is quite something to see a mast explode when 3 big men are right out on their wires! It was extremely entertaining for those of us safely on dry land but super expensive for the sailors & the pick up boat was kept really busy for some time because there were masts & wires & sails all tangled together in the water. The Germans designed & built this one so it just goes to show: all sailors are quite mad.

Memorial service for SIL's mother was held today. Oldest grand daughter eloquently eulogized her grandmother. Now the family can regain normalcy. SIL's stepfather is doing better than I had expected. 5 days of field trialing starts tomorrow - 3 at home club and then 2 at a neighboring club. I'm tired just thinking about it.
