BYC Café

Would you like me to PM my mailing address to you??!! Christmas is just around the corner.
If you like that sort of thing I'll keep an eye out for you. I think this one will be going to my eldest daughter. Good try though.:p:lol:

I'm making a set of these atm. I've reinvented the egg cup!
I've never understood why egg cups come as wobbly vase type things that knock over easily.
This takes most size eggs as well.

Handmade gifts are always the best. What type of wood is that?

It's beech. The last set I made were the local evergreen oak.

It's lovely wood, looks like it has a nice smooth grain.

My dad was a woodworker. He primarily worked with walnut and oak but he loved finding all sorts in out of the way places. Not sure he ever made anything from beech, that's nice stuff!

Morning! Thanks for the coffee. Nice artwork and I like your egg-cup, Shad.
I hope the warm temps we are having today head your way, Sean.
Doughnuts! Don't forget, last night was the time change for those of us that still suffer from that.
DS$ got a 2nd and he is a bit sore today. Great competition and he is getting ready for the HS season that is right around the corner. Have a wonderful day you all!

Morning Margie! Congrats to your son on the wrestling.

What sort of woodworker was your dad Debby?
One of the good things about beech is it takes oil well so you can seal it. That makes it washable. The other hardwoods I use here need to be waxed and oiled and they still swell with high humidity.
