There are some major changes on the horizon for me.
I got my grant for the study. The study is on free range broody hen nesting strategy. It's not going to make any waves but it will be interesting for me.
I've also got a bit of a job. I think I mentioned before that I had been asked to 'advice' on a project to supply selected restaurants with free range chicken meat. I have my doubts about the business model but the project has commitment and funding.
I've also been asked if I would contribute to an online publication that is going to be in the eyes of most who contribute to BYC an animal welfare organization here in Europe. This is likely to put me in direct conflict with the aims and goals of BYC.
Essentially this means you'll need a new coffee boy for the mornings. I'm not leaving BYC as such, but I'm not going to have much time in the mornings especially and time I do have I hope to be spending with chickens.
Assuming everything doesn't fall flat my intention is to take an MSc through Edinburgh University in Applied Poultry Science. This in theory with my study should get me on Bristols University team studying cognitive behaviour in chickens.

This could all go horribly wrong with the Brexit situation so the longer term is a plan that is definitely of mice and men.

It's going to be strange working to fixed hours even if they are short and convenient. There is one not so good aspect and that's I'll have to have a mobile phone again.

Hope you have better mobile phone service there than where I live. I'm constantly walking through my house trying to find a sweet spot where my conversations aren't broken up.

We run into that same problem up here in Wyoming too Pert. Some days it's annoying and some days it's kind of nice

Not to knowing on who is there Nextel had service in other country's for years but Sprint bought them screwed it up pretty major .. I sure envy your new venture
