This chick reminds me of a penguin

DH learned about pour overs because Starbucks always does it for him and he always wanted to get his own. Now he doesn't really go to Starbucks at all because he can buy their coffee and do his own.

I'm thinking about buying him some type of coffee club membership for Christmas, but I am not sure yet.

How about a gift card to Starbucks ? That's the 'go to' gift for several of my grandkids since I really need NOTHING.

Yeah DH and I need nothing either, but I always end up buying him something. Last year I bought him a new wedding band.

My parents asked me what I want yesterday and I told them I want cowboy boots the Ariat kind you see at TSC.

I'm someone who buys everything that I need and I never really need anything.

Specialty Java is our favorite place to get beans (we don't roast them, but do grind them). They might have a club, I'm not sure. Might be worth checking out!

They do start out very small!

It will be fun to see how the chick change as it grows out
I was just looking at some of my Jersey Giant /Delaware crosses... Some have this really pretty brown feathering on their chest. I'll have to get pics next weekend. Some of the ones that are Jersey Giant/red sex link cross barred like a barred rock. It's so crazy how they all are so different! I thought that I was only going to get straight black chicks and nothing more and nothing less.

I'm really happy with the coloring so far. I can't wait until they're old enough to know if they're pullets then I can choose the ones that I am going to keep in my layer flock.

I may sell some of the others as POL in the spring instead of using them for meat. We offered some chicks to good friends yesterday, I'm hoping they text us saying they want some. I even offered to take the roosters back and I'll process them for meat.

I've had an enjoyable morning coop cleaning and chatting to Cillin. I find it hard to believe a couple of years ago he was a tribe less orphan rushing out of the bamboo when I arrived at the car port to work on a lamp, hoping for a bit of walnut and now, he's dad to 11 and the leader of his tribe. :love
Bought a new chain for the saw and sharpened my bill hook. I must remember to take my camera on Wednesday and get some picture before the work starts.

I just got trampled on by 21 chicks :lau when I go outside to let them out of their coop and feed them, they run all over me! I love it.

Sid is still being a tool... Trying to be dominant towards me. I wouldn't mind if he was a smaller cockerel, but he's a Jersey Giant that is almost halfway up to my thigh when he crows. I hope it's just a hormonal thing! Squatch was like this at one point, but I taught him a lesson. DH thinks Sid will calm down once I put more ladies in :idunnoif not I'm going to have to rehome or butcher him.

Morning! Thanks for the coffee!
Those are some adorable chicks, FC! It is not chick season around here. We are supposed to get up to 2 feet of snow. We got the firewood delivered and hopefully, they can get some stashed under cover before the snow buries it.
Enjoy the day you All!
It's not chick season here either! I hatched these from my own eggs and I have a heat lamp outside in their big coop. It's 50s during the day and 20s at night. I'm in VA, but I used to live in NH so it feels warm to me right now.
