BYC Café

I've had what is colloquially know as a right touch today. I sold two lamps. I haven't sold anything for months and out of the blue this car turns up and a man gets out and asks if I'm the guy that makes the lamps he saw on U Tube.
I'm a bit nonplussed for a moment, then I remember that some young man came around a few of the stalls at the Mostra de Art last year saying he was making a video of some of the work on display. I haven't even seen the video. These were big lamps he bought, 350 Euros each. I let him have the pair for 600.
I'm rich!:ya:lol:
Edit. I'm looking for flights to the UK for Christmas.
Congratulations, rich man!!

Wow there’s a lot of food in the cafe today! :wee

When I was growing up thanksgivings were manic, mad rushing, sweating, slaving rituals crammed with tons of people.

When DH & I got married thanksgiving became very casual. We’d laze around & eat pie in our pjs & eat dinner at dinner time. Occasionally someone who drop by.

The first year that my parents decided they were too old to host thanksgiving & came down to my place, my dad was on the verge of a heart attack all day. Why wasn’t I running around like a mad woman, sweating & slaving? Why was I playing with my kids & why were we going to eat dinner at 6:00 at night? ... It was a tough day for him. When I stopped everything & sat down with pie & a cup of coffee in the middle of the afternoon he nearly dropped dead. :lau My house became legendary after that. They told everybody in my family about it & all my nieces & nephews decided they wanted to have thanksgiving at my house.
:gigThanksgivings are still very casual here. There’s a lot of cooking to be done, but also a lot of time for relaxing & messing around. I’ve already eaten the pie.

be safe out this weekend everyone & congrats Shad on the big sale! :yesss::clap:celebrate

I've had possums around my pens but they never have tried to get any of my birds. I guess Texas possum's don't like pheasant! :idunnoI just "leave them be" ...."live and let live"!
I had a possum kill three of my best chickens. The dog had pretty much killed it anyway.
Today Hubby shot a coon, I think Mini would have killed it too, but he was afraid it would bite her. The little dog stayed away from that coon, I suspect she does know how small she is, secretly. I skinned the coon and am going to try tanning the hide.

Are they edible Cap; not the dogs, the raccoons?:p:lol:

I'm currently practicing for the stupidest man of the year award.:p
I'm trying to sweep up feathers with a broom.:he
Because this person turned up for the lamps I didn't get to go shopping. I've got around 40 lamps here and they want to see them all.
Because I didn't go shopping and that means I don't have replacement vacuum cleaner bags.:hmm

Sure enjoyed the read there Shad

Now I'm concerned...what exactly is going on your table for dinner today Cap?

I love family stories like that

One year my parents came for a visit and I served them beef stew for dinner that night. The next day dad was so sick, he had to go to the hospital. From that day onward, we didn't have beef stew...we had killer stew.
(It wasn't actually the food that put dad in the hospital, it was diverticulitis. Figured I better clarify that.)

Wonderful contributions to today's feast Sour! Have a safe trip & enjoy your family!
We are having Turkey, but if I could I would cook the coon and feed it to the chickens. I have skinned it, and hope to tan the hide. I was going to use the brain method, but when hubby shot the coon, the bullet went in the eye and messed up the brain. Not much left. So I have the pelt soaking in brine until i can finish defleshing the hide.
