Morning all- napped too long so trying to catch up

I interfered with Cheap Shot Charlie and his boy the other day. The former was in the corner with his head pointed at the ground getting pecked on No matter if he was a jerk or not, couldn't let him be hurt.

When I was collecting eggs yesterday, I heard someone shrieking in the coop. I assumed Sarge, Fabio's remaining son, had gotten hold of a pullet and she was fighting him off. I looked up to see Fabio come running through the pop door after the offender. The battling duo was indeed Sarge and Truvi. But it was Truvi who had Sarge by the back of the head dragging him around the coop. When Big Daddy got to them, Sarge had broken free (sans a beak full of white head feathers) and Fabio gave Truvi a peck. Sarge ran out to the run and collected himself on one of the perches. Poor not so little guy.
This is why I keep Fabio around. He is such a great rooster for flock.

Sounds like playground battles at school. Glad that's all way, way ,way long ago.

It's a brisk 10F outside. But it's supposed to hit the high 30s later today. Tomorrow we will approach 50 with rain.

You are a lot colder than us. Right now close to 40F but we are headed for an extremely cold period through next week- single digits for lows and maybe 20-30 for highs.

BTW were you able to adopt that Doberman you were interested in? My memory flies out the window.

I haven't heard back. The woman I spoke with said they were going to collect applications then the Board would meet to review the applications and make a decision. I don't know how long they intend to collect applications.
