Well, not exactly. I have helped pull calves before, but never on my own :) If it's really cold (freezing tails, ears, feet - cold) or there's a problem, like last night, I generally wield towels and a blow dryer to get the babe dried off. Which, if you haven't attempted to dry a fresh newborn covered in fur, it's much more challenging than you'd think :p We've got a pretty good set-up for a warming room, though. Good facilities make everything much easier.
I have helped deliver calves many years ago and was doing the midwife bit for the ewes here for a few years.
I get into trouble with my daughters who tell me I show more interest in every other creatures babies.
I've got to admit, I have no defense against this accusation.

The Duggars have 19 and they all have J names  :th

The youngest is 10 and I think the oldest is 31 or something like that.

And they were all homeschooled. :th

They had a TV show but I think it was cancelled but they may have another one now.

Of course the older ones now are mostly married and/or have kids of their own so.... family is still growing. :th

Said they mostly bought used, thrift stores and such. Some of the older ones never went to college. But still must be crazy expensive. :th

There's always room to try harder, but we can't help who we are. :idunno I prefer the company of animals to people (as a general rule) and always have. Could be as simple as: I'm not real chatty. Too much conversation wears me out. That's not to say I don't like people, I certainly do :p

Just for clarification I don’t watch the show or keep up with them regularly or anything like that. :lau

I just remembered there was a show I used to watch with tons of kids years ago and Googled it/researched them to find out if they were the ones I was thinking of which is how I learned most of this :lau

I would never have that many kids! I have thought about 3-5 but thought even 5 was a lot! Can’t imagine 19. :th

They said they were originally thinking 2-3 when they first got married but decided to let God decide how many kids they would have or some such thing. :th

Nice sentiment I suppose but can you imagine going out to dinner or on vacation with that many kids!? :th

I guess they must not go out to dinner ever but still.

Family get togethers!? Holidays!? Their weddings!?:th

Can you imagine buying Christmas and birthday presents for that many kids!? :th

Sorry, I’ll stop now. :lau:oops:

I don't think I'm very well.
I've cooked a 6 portion pot of stew, made 4 portions of leek, potato and wild boar soup, prepared a tuna and avocado bake and I'm thinking about making some meringues.

Almost forgot the blue cheese mashed potato.

As long as you don't eat it all in the same sitting I think you're doing good.:thumbsup

Preparing for an army, Shad? I bet it'll be nice to have leftovers!

What all goes into the tuna/avocado bake? Besides the obvious, course :D

It sounds like a party at the Cafe!
