Meg you certainly have nice areas for them to whelp in. Sorry I pretty much remember just dog terms. Long term memory much better than short term. Are the Calves the gender's you were hoping for?

Ha, that's okay, Nancy! Whelp, calve, farrow...I get ya Yes, turning out heavy on bull calves. That's good this year. Not wanting to save anymore, necessarily.

I'm not sure, I will have to ask my husband. I wish I had pictures from when it was just a barn. He said it was pretty rough.

I think it's such a good idea, especially if salvaging an existing building. Having the chickens in the house here involves a lot of work. Something like your setup would be much more practical; or even something like the more traditional farmhouses here.
Maybe I should design a two story earth bermed building with a barn as the lower level.

well it's 4:18 am here Sunday so can't see what the sky look like. Supposed to get up and go to a movie in about 5-6 hours. Might as well hit the hay and do some power sleeping.

Good morning Cafe! It's still nice outside. We are planning on doing some type of walking around today after church. Was planning on bringing one of the dogs to church with us then bringing them for a walk... It'll probably be my puggle even though I'd love to bring the pitador.

Adorable! Hubby wouldn't let me get cows. Which is ok because I am not strong enough to push them around.
