@ronott1 is your homemade yogurt pretty tart? Do you flavor it? Mine turned out a bit runny and sour. But plain yogurt is not something I eat anyway, because of the "bold" flavor. I put honey and vanilla in and it's better, but I'm not sure it's the way it's supposed to be.
The first time it will be runny and it gets better by the second or third time. Also, if the yogurt gets old before the next batch, it can go back to runny

I do add a teaspoon of beef gelatin for a 4 cup batch. I bloom the gelatin with some of the cold milk while the yogurt heats up and then add it in when 180f is reached.

I have made Bulgarian yogurt and it is fairly tart. You can get plain Greek yogurt from the store and start using it-- a couple of tablespoons in when the milk cools to 109.

Have fun playing with it!

That's something to cherish, for certain :)
I know this won't sound funny to some people, but it was very funny to my family...

One day I decided to take a nap because I was a bit tired because I was having a flare-up. I didn't answer my phone calls or my text I guess So my father called my husband at his work to tell him that I was not answering the phone... My husband starts calling me and I don't answer the phone still so he leaves work because he thinks that I am dead... I am not even lying.

He busted through the front door and screamed my name, I woke up wondering what the heck was going on.

I haven't taken a nap since

Thank you, Ron! I forgot to save some of this batch as starter before I added honey and vanilla, can I still use it or should I start the next batch with plain yogurt again?

Oh, jeez! Those poor guys were probably scared to death! Haha, no naps for you :p

Meg, are you going to be able to keep him? He looks great!

Kidnapping the pastries, eh?
Honestly, I don't know. I'm sure you remember our deal...but my husband said last night "It's not like we have to get rid of him." Softy :D I guess time will tell. It would be nice for Chewy to have a friend that looks like her. I'm sure they'd always be together.
