Nice looking egg! Here is Lucy's first egg after her molt. I took a picture of it next to that inky winky fart egg from yesterday. It's still a huge egg for her to be starting back up with. It weighed 80g.

I agree with this! For some reason I hated 30. Now at 78 I treasure every day. My mother lived to be 97 and was pleasant and well liked till the instant she died. One of her many sayings was, "Getting old is no sin, but acting old is." There's a lot of truth in that. I tend to be rather blunt and that sometimes offends people, but I never go out of my way to hurt or antagonize others. I also do not tolerate that from others. At this point in life I simply walk away from abrasive people. If someone threatens something important to me, well that's another story.
Yoiks!!I was thinking something more like this. I've put out a few of these so watch your step.

I hope they make it. Do you think Mag will step up and help them if her elevator drops another floor?Barking Bracket got her chicks out today. It's still raining but Bracket had them frantically trying to keep up with her through the undergrowth.
Looking at her with her chicks and on her past history, she does in my eyes look a shockingly bad mother.
However, the chicks know the tribe given Bracket hatched them in the tribe coop, and when Bracket wandered off, the chicks gathered around Mag, Tribe 2's junior rooster.
It is a really strange thing to watch. Bracket does seem to remember she has chicks having moved off by 10 metres, or so and comes hurrying back.
I can't see the chicks surviving.
We did finally get all the chicks in at roost time. It takes two or three days before I can be confident that they will make their own way up.
Anyway, Here she is. She's such a lovely hen in looks and disposition, she's just a few cards short of a full deck.

yes, they get slower at three years old.Weeks, months, years(or it feels like it anyway)
My flock will be 3 years old in April, so maybe they're a bit slower than last yearLast year they were "off duty"for about 3-4 months or so (as best I recall).
I was thinking something more like this. I've put out a few of these so watch your step.
