The Princess and I were on a river cruise where the entire boat got Norovirus. It was the sickest that I have ever been. At first I thought that I would die, and then I was afraid that I would not. Horrible purging experience.

My dad and I both got horrible food poisoning last year from some BBQ. We think it was the smoked salmon as my mom didn’t eat it and she didn’t get sick. My dad and I both ate a lot of it as it was delicious. Could have been the sweet potatoes too but we think it was the salmon. Anyway, we were both so sick. Up every couple hours the whole night and I think I lost every fluid I had.

Then the next day we had to ride the ferry back and drive home. Thankfully by then I wasn’t quite as sick but still a bit sick so it wasn’t fun.

Thankfully by later that afternoon I was mostly fine and next day I was back to normal.

My dad was sick for a few days after and miserable. He thought he was gonna die too I think.

I guess I recovered faster being younger but it was probably the sickest I’ve ever been.

Ever since then I won’t touch salmon and I don’t even like BBQ. I’ve had problems from pulled pork a couple times too. Not food poisoning but just a bit sick. So I don’t trust any BBQ anymore. Which sucks as I love good BBQ.

Could be!! Guess we won’t know for sure. We weren’t sick any other way like a cold or anything. Idk if norovirus usually has any other symptoms? I know it started that night and I was sick all night/morning and most of the next day. Stopped actually getting sick by like mid morning/early afternoon but I just still felt awful. My dad was sick a few days. But it should have normally lasted longer? So maybe not food poisoning then. Assumed it was as it happened right after we ate and only my dad and I got sick and we’re the only ones that ate that thing. Wouldn’t the same person handle all the food? Maybe not. Either way, it was awful

Salmonella is longer than that-- 4 to 6 days. E-coli is longer still 5-7 days

I work in our local school district and the elementary kids were dropping like flies today. (Our total K-12 population is just over 400 kids, all in the same building.) I saw one 5th grade teacher in the hall with about 10 kids - roughly half his class. There are 32 kids in 6th grade. Two didn’t come, and three more that I know of went home today. I think it’s a stomach virus going around mostly, but I have heard of a couple of cases of influenza, so who knows? Anyway, I’m thinking it’s time to invest in a hazmat suit.

That's terrible. One of the guys at work, his daughter just got over flu B, now the other one is puking. Was just talking about a full hazmat today I hope you can stay clear of it!

Oh wow that sounds awful!! Wonder if that’s it maybe.

And huh, didn’t realize it was so long! I thought I had read food poisoning could be only a day or two or could be longer but maybe not or maybe it depends. I know my dad had it a lot longer than I did. At least a few days but I think possibly longer. His was like the whole week almost.
