BYC Café

Morning and thanks for the coffee! It is not July, the only month that I have not had snow/ flurries at my place. Foot deep hail yes, but not snow. LOL!
Anyway, it is starting out sunny with snow showers until Sunday. We are heading down to help out at the ranch tomorrow. Not much going on, just dodging moose and waiting for the grass to show up and start growing. Enjoy the day!

Is anyone noticing a scarcity of birds? My redwing blackbird disappeared - don't even hear him anywhere. The mourning doves the same. The many sparrows that are usually all over the garage roof - gone. Even the one or two that looked in the kitchen window have disappeared. Only their poo poo remains.

The gold finches are AWOL, As are the cardinals we had all winter. Haven't seen the ONE robin that has been scratching around. We started March with many. I've thinking(hoping) they just moved back into the forrest preserves we have all around us.

My first time on the Cafe. Hello global poultry people!

Well we have had a record warm March and April is not much father behind. Still rainy, as usual. My daughter sighted a hawk in my yard yesterday. The old one must have died last year and a new one has come around.
Welcome, pull up a chair and have a beverage!

We have the goldfinches here, they have been moulting and are getting more yellow every day. And cardinals, phoebes, sparrows, hawks, etc.
