BYC Café

Good morning, Cafe. Thanks for the coffee, Shad. Do you celebrate Saint Jordies day and if so, how?
We had rain last night and chances of thunder showers today. I'm hoping to get through this morning to the Work Share office again but something tells me I'm going to fail...

I hope you get some, most of it missed me here.

Beautifully cool day yesterday, another today before a long heat wave ahead next week.
Got a lot done yesterday, felt great but my body is screaming at me today.
Store brand coffee is gack :sick

I'm hoping to get through this morning to the Work Share office again but something tells me I'm going to fail...
Well, it wouldn't be your failure.
I hope you can get thru :fl:fl:fl

I called the NYS Work Share line 12 times throughout the day today!!!
Got booted every time!! :rant
DD2 hit the phone daily for a couple of weeks and always got a busy signal or disconnected. She had managed to file her original claim online and waited for the booklet she was "told" she would get before she makes her first weekly claim. Well 2 weeks later still no booklet. I managed to hear on the radio that they weren't sending them out, too many people filing!
So she tried to file her first weekly online and got an error saying her SSN was wrong. Well it hasn't changed since she was born ;) and she tried entering it with and without the 2 dashes. No difference. Tried that for a week before she tried calling. Never did get through but there were updates on the radio about what day of the week people should file their weekly based on their last name. And that there were increasing numbers of people being trained to deal with the issues. And that a lot of people were having the problem she had. She decided to try online claiming a couple of times and et voila, she finally didn't get the (false) error.

Presumably it was in too strong or too long. I got conflicting info from the website I was following and other sources over how long to brine, from 2 hours (the former) to up to 24 hours (the latter), and followed the former. I also rinsed it afterwards and threw away the brine as advised.
Yeah I did the 24 hour and I THOUGHT I had it rinsed really well. Certainly did throw the brine out. The meat was still FAR too salty.

It's Saint Jordies day here today. It's a National Holiday.
Are the batteries in your calendar quite weak such that time is passing more slowly for you than the rest of us since the Festival of St. Jordi is supposed to be April 23? ;)
My guess is they postponed it this year due to the Covid shutdowns. I hope there is no spike from people celebrating St Jordi.
