My hens that were all broody left the nest after the snake came and ate the eggs and killed their sister. Sigh, second time for this. So I guess I will be putting mesh all over the outside of the run.

Was thinking of buying a broody plate I have two heating pads that do not have auto shut off

DH is home. He seems to have had a good time but of course can't remember anything to tell me.

Sadly that is how it goes. But if they are happy in the moment life is OK.

This is this morning she is letting them out to teach them to eat they where just a few hours old when I took them up there

I am going to give it a try. Have a big roll of hardware cloth, 4 feet wide.

I need to get another roll used the last one I had on the little coops yard so it is safe for the cochin that love to go broody
