My hens that were all broody left the nest after the snake came and ate the eggs and killed their sister. Sigh, second time for this. So I guess I will be putting mesh all over the outside of the run.

Put a broody in the breaker crate ~48 hours ago,
gonna let her out here soon and see what she does.
Hoping she goes to roost and forgets all about those hormones

Today has been an exceptionally good day.

A soft rain feel and the heat wave broke.

I let the psych ward patient out and her lunatic ravings didn't upset the chicks and their new mother. She's still on the nest.

The feral mother cat let me pet her and 2 kittens let me briefly pick them up without panicking and allowed me to pet their entire bodies. Major progress with them.

But best of all, the couple came to see dad's house and it was a major love fest. They want it and asked what the next step needs to be. I told them they need to get pre-approved for a mortgage. The wife said they're going tomorrow and could be pre-approved in a day. I cleared up that they could be pre-qualified in a day. Pre-approval takes longer as everything gets verified. We'll go from there depending on what they get approved for and what type of mortgage they choose.
