A whole pack of working beagles!

But of course this will call for a cuddly house dog as balance/compensation :yesss:

Whatever plans people may make, they often have to be changed for lesser reasons. Fingers crossed that all will go well.

You're as bad as the rest of this lot. I haven't heard 'puppy' all week. :fl

is the dog on the left in the last photo a Lakeland @LaFleche ? S/he looks very like our Archie View attachment 2400453

That sure is a cutie!

But @DobieLover is right, mine is an Airedale puppy, the first picture was taken right after he arrived at our home at the age of 9 weeks.

The other picture was taken at 4 month. Right now he is 5 month old and all teeth and saliva with all the new teeth coming in. 🤪

I was thinking Airedale but he's too small.

My parents had a pair of Airedales. Duke and Heidi.
Duke was kept in a kennel in the back yard at the breeders and never properly socialized. He was a handful. He killed everything he could get his mouth on at our farm. Countless numbers of our muscovies that flew into his pen, two of my rabbits, he attacked and nearly killed two dogs, he took down a deer, went after a neighbors calf... The last straw was when he broke out of his and Heidi's pen and killed one of our pet goats. My father took him to the vet that night and had him euthanized.

O dear, I am sorry that you have such dreadful memories in connection with Airedales. How did Heidi react to his destructive behaviour?

They don't do well kept in kennels, as they need the close contact with their family to develop into a reliable, well behaved and loyal guardian. I grew up with our neighbours Airedales and ever since love their wild and playful nature, their watchfulness, versatility and their intelligence and sense of humor.

Heidi did not partake and submitted to him. She lived to be about 12 years old. She was euthanized due to multiple cancers. She was a sweet dog.
