It is, and to any animal. I did not know that these traps were still in use.

My sister-in-law goes out every morning. 5 miles on Sunday and weekdays, 10 on Saturday. It has been below 19°F once so far and will be again tomorrow morning.

AKA Fisher Cat even though they aren't cats but in the weasel family. They've been known to snag cats and small dogs. Those critters are usually safe from other weasels and foxes.

Not surprisingly, Skittles foot is swollen where the trap snapped closed on it.

He still appears to be okay. He's not licking it or favoring it. We got lucky.

Might want to ice it for a while.
