If the damn things stay out of my kitchen, they won't make me have to kill them.:mad: And they have ignore the "quick end" traps, even the $2.50/each ones.
You like about like I do .. just don't want them around the birds unless their eating them
 
Has she been having problems?
She's always been a 'heavy breather', there's a couple-few of them out there,
but all otherwise active and productive with no other symptoms.
There was some mild respiratory issues long ago(came with my first flock) that may still be hanging around.

I'm glad you found it useful Hhl. As someone who keeps heritage breeds in a traditional way, I have found old poultry handbooks most useful, as they speak to the same sort of chickens living in the same sort of environment. My favorite is this one

If you keep modern hybrids in a penned run, you would probably be better off with a modern handbook such as the chickens for dummies one.
