BYC Café

Ok, I have to take a minute to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and warm wishes. My BYC family has helped me through this ordeal more than I can say!

Morning!
WV, Very glad DH is home!
Happy B-Day Mrs. Sour!
OFW, How did the play go? I bet it was fun!

DS$' wrestling went well yesterday. He got 6th and his coach laughingly said that too bad they don't have an award for being the only survivor in his bracket, still on this side of puberty. He learned a lot and he knows that this age group is just weird. He is looking forward to next year for this tournament, but meanwhile back in reality, Freestyle starts up.
So I am clarifying the wrestling weight management practices that are currently in use, I think nationally.
At the beginning of the HS season, the wrestlers have to go in for a body composition analysis for fat, water and muscle. They are then given a range of operating weight and if they go below, they are out of competition. I don't know what happens if they go above, no experience. DS@ was always super lean and so they would really keep an eye on him. The wrestling practices of old are not viable, here in CO at least, and I am so glad.

I know the coffee is done brewing by now! Bottoms up!

My youngest brother, who just graduated a couple years ago, was in wrestling. He was super lean as well (his true sport was cross country) they still tried to get him to lose weight. You could trace his ribs clearly, his backbone too. That turned me off of wrestling. I am glad to hear CO has changed to rules for that.
