But at least now I can lean off the seat when needed without the engine dying.
On mine that only happens when the mower blades/PTO is engaged.
But my machine is circa 1987.

According to a troubleshooting article I read, there is likely a short or improper ground somewhere in the wiring harness sending a false signal to the safety interlock system. That should be great fun trying to find it.
UHG. I hate electrical stuff....I stink at it.
Do you have a technical manual?

I don't mind it in the house. I hate it in automotive stuff.
I do not have a technical manual but I DO have a guy that is going to look at it for me. I just need to haul it there.
We talked and are leaning towards mice in the shroud. Uuugh!! These damn mice!!

I feel your pain, Penny. Just because these little vermin are smaller than your rats doesn't seem to stop them from causing me all kinds of issues this year.

Yes, same here.

They may have chewed on some wires.
When they house up in the engine shroud it can cause over heating of engine,
can also cause a fire.
Hope you guy can find and fix the PTO problem, then you can reattach the seat safety.
