BYC Café

Sorry about your hen @aart.
Thanks. Gonna take longer than usual to get over this one.

I laughed reading about Willie. "Hey, woman! I'M in charge around here!"..."Hey, boy! You heard her. Get the hell outta here!!"
HA! That's exactly what is was like!! :gig :gig :gig
I was watching from up here and thought oh good he's schooling that biotch.
Then he took a few pecks but let the cockerel run away.

Think I'm going to leave the wall up until this heat wave is over.
The chicks have the coolest place to be, don't want them chased out by the bigs.

Hot here.
It is...86°...makes me crabby too, no one to bitch to tho. :gig

Broody hen was crabby too when I tossed her out of nest this afternoon,
she stayed out tho. Will probably have to throw her back out tonight.
It's too hot to crate her so hope she snaps out of it.

Tho I did get out and got the coop windows opened, the big shade cloth up, door window shade up, and the north eave baffle down.
Nice breeze helped and that I was in the shade for most of it.
A whole lotta hauling ladders around and climbing up and down them.
Luckily didn't wipe out my feet like usual(at least yet).

From first year, 2014, it's not as pretty anymore but still intact and functional.
West side of coop gets hammered for half the day.

Before the terror of the ocean voyage began.

Skittles loved it and fell asleep for the last 45 minutes.
Bella vibrated, panted and attempted to crawl inside my skin to hide for the entire trip.
We met a wonderful couple that offered to watch the dogs so we could go on the upper deck to spot dolphins. They rode the ferry with us too.
We saw lots of dolphins. No whales.
Everyone but Bella had a great time. She ate her dinner in the car and is now passed out waiting to get back on the ferry to go home. No more ocean voyages for her.

Awwww, poor Bella :(
We once sailed with 3 Dobermans. They all loved it. I keep forgetting how insecure Bella was when I adopted her. Days like today remind me.
She was also attacked at the Cape May dog park. Very brief, she wasn't hurt but it knocked her confidence right down. She kept screaming when any dog tried to play with her after that. Even 2 puppies. Poor girl.
