BYC Café

Fresh coffee is brewed - thanks for the cinnamon rolls. 91% humidity already this morning :barnie Mid afternoon predicted in the mid 90's with thunder storms. The humidity just wears me down. Maggie feels that she is 100% so the attempt to keep her calm until the incision heals is difficult. If I dare to sit in the living room, my chair is soon filled with toys, and she is going, "Throw it, Dad. Just throw it." Yeah, we generally play 'fetch' down the hall.
Same here, I am literally dripping after pressure washing the interiors of just another coop

For Maggie you might want to try some indoor games for dogs that just had surgery:

Use 3 identical cups and hide a treat under one of them, then let her choose the one she thinks hides the treat. She will quickly get the point and usually dogs enjoy this game.

Curious why you pressure wash...must take forever(if ever) to dry in humid weather?
Today it is windy and the sun came out, so I take advantage and rip the interior of the coop out and reassemble in late afternoon after pressure washing and some hours of drying in wind and sunshine.

Poop boards, roosts, and the two layers of pond liner: one from the poop boards and the big one covering the coop floor.

And while I'm waiting for it all to dry nicely, I ususally pressure wash the water dispensers as well and disinfect them. I have a set of three for every coop, so there will be enough time to dry out (pathogen prevention) in between.

For the "why": I no longer have the strength for vigorously scrubbing by hand for several hours to clean off the amount of muck all these lovely chickens create.
Might soon come the time where I will have to reduce the size and even number of my several flocks again to adapt them to my cleaning abilities

Removing all that stuff must be quite the effort.

The older I get, the more bothered I get from high humidity :sick
Same here!

Major thunderstorms and even a tornado warning - second one this summer. We never get tornado warnings. Sumps are filled to the brim, but so far the sump pumps are getting the job done. Another string of storms supposed to hit in another hour or so. Maggie has not been phased by thunder until this storm. She is in the computer room with her head on my feet just like she did as a puppy. :love

Good morning everyone!

Come and have a nice cup of freshly brewed coffee! I even brought some cinnamon rolls

Have a great day!
Nice! I made cinnamon rolls this morning from the extra pizza dough from last night.

They are so good!
