BYC Café

Good morning Cafe and thanks for the coffee, Sour. Needed for sure.
We finally have another dry warm day up on deck so I have a load of wash going that I need to hang on the line before running the dogs.
With all this warm/soggy weather, I've started the flock on another 7 day round of Flubendazole.

Good afternoon everyone, and thanks for the coffee @sourland :caf

After two beautiful summerdays we already seem to have arrived in autumn this morning: Grey and misty with chilly temperatures, strong gusts of wind and lots of rain in the forecast. :hmm

Just came back from running the dogs and later in the afternoon hope to finish with the new netting for the grow out area, so the now 10 week old pullets will be able to enjoy the whole space. Half of it is already up, but I ran out of zip ties.

How is you little furry princess doing by now?
Was wondering about Maggie also.

Mowing in small batches started yesterday and will continue until it's done or rains again.
Need to run for groceries this morning, grocery deli chicken and slaw as 'bait'.

Junior contingent is mixing much more with the flock, and less 'afraid' of me as I clean.
Cockerels seem rather neutral, not much mounting and no crowing at 15 weeks.
Thought I might have heard a crow a couple mornings ago, but nothing since.
Willie seems cool with them all too.
Need to decide when to slaughter and whether to keep Willie or one of the BCM cockerels.
Am a bit ambivalent since my breeding plans took a dive with no Ameraucanas hatching.

How is Willie doing now? You wrote earlier that you were concerned about him making it slaughter this autumn. I assumed to keep one of the cockerels to replace him. Or will you try to keep Willie with a junior male for a while?
