I wouldn't be able to easily push them in, at least on the bottom rail. There isn't a lot of room between the treads and the rail and I doubt they'd stay put. Taping them over is the easiest solution.

Good morning Cafe and thanks for the coffee, LF.

The kids are doing pretty good in the flock. They still hang around mom but she's not feeding them any more. If I give her a raisin, down the hatch it goes.

And the pullet god seems to have smiled upon me. I do believe I only have one cockerel in this batch of 5. DSLB males have solid black chests. Only the females have lacing on the chest. Only one has no signs of lacing developing on the chest and it's also the only one with pink in the comb and wattles. Also the largest chick with the largest comb and wattles. So I'm putting a stake in the ground that I've got a most excellent 4 to 1 split in my favor!

What about low expansion foam spray?
