Have not got out the jamies yet
You were really slacking today PennyJo!

It takes just that little a thing to push me over the edge.
I think MOST of us would be pretty annoyed. They should have given you at LEAST a day's notice that they would be bringing machinery the day before the job.

Are they confined to a small area or are you talking about roosting at night?
My girls are fortunate to have a large barn area and lots of outdoor space so they can keep away from the older girls when necessary.

The trouble is being together.

I have not put them together at night.

I have been trying to to integrate them in the run.

When they are together, they have over 300 square feet and I'm getting ready to add another 100 plus square feet.

Today the yard girl and I tried to pout two of the older chickens in with thee new ones.

Miss Boss was having a fit at the nesting boxes and was fighting with one of the barred rocks.

They really got nasty with each other.

Roost them together at night in the dark their vision is not that great
And then the sun rises and they see the interlopers there in the coop and whamo bamo. I would not do it that way. The newbies have to roost with the original flock on their own when they are ready after they've been exposed to them for enough time.
I would keep going with the look don't touch and get the extra space in the run and put lots of stuff in the run. Clutter it up.
