Good morning and it is sunny here but still breezy. My soup recipe is a very loose one around sweet potatoes and spices but here you go...

Southwestern Sweet Potato Soup
diced = onion, garlic, peppers (mild or spicy or a mix of both)
Saute until soft in your soup pot.
Add cooked meat if you want (pork, chicken, bacon, ham, etc.)
Add two good-sized diced peeled sweet potatoes or more if it is a big pot!
Add broth or water to cover.
Add mild chili powder 3-4 tablespoons.
Add a couple of tablespoons of cumin.
Salt to taste if you want.

Optional ingredients:
Dash of cayenne if no hot peppers were used
I tried a dash of pumpkin pie spice and it was good!
Can of black beans
Can or frozen sweet corn
Roasted green chilies, some are diced and in a can.
Diced tomatoes
Some cooked rice
Adjust the spices to suit your tastebuds. You can add taco seasoning but that is salty so be careful if you used salty broth of some sort.
Cook the soup until the sweet potatoes are soft.
Serve with sour cream, chopped fresh cilantro, or some shredded cheese, or some fresh tortillas, whatever makes you happy!

New TV, hope it plugs and plays with my ancient co-ax roof antennae :fl
It did!
Lost some channels, gained more, mixed 'habit feelings' there.
It so big and clear I almost don't need my glasses to watch it.
Now what to do with the 26yo CRT?
(Man, that sucker is HEAVY!)

Our landfill takes them for recycling. We do not have to pay for the disposal.

Your soup sounds wonderful, it's nice to have a lot of ways of making variations!
