BYC Café

It was sunny for a while. Then the clouds moved in and it started raining. Now it's cold, rain is getting a little solider, and I lost all my reasons to go do something outside.

So I'll bake bread for hubby, and my GF sourdough starter will be one day closer to being ready to make my first loaf of sourdough bread.

And maybe take a nap.

Nice!

@ronott1, I haven't started the regular sourdough from what you sent me yet. DH is on a diet, and wants to lose a few pounds before he has sourdough bread around all the time.

I give the guy credit: He has cut waaaay back on several things that he usually has all the time, and is having soup for lunch at work. He usually doesn't think soup is enough of a meal.

The dehydrated starter will keep for years!

I am looking for ways to use the sourdough discard, if you have any recipes. Pizza crust, pancakes for one person (ha ha)?
There are recipes in the pdf set I sent you.

Look for crumpets, biscuits and other recipes that use baking soda. The bakers thread index has sourdough cheddar bacon muffins too.
