BYC Café

Good afternoon Café!

I brought a big freshly brewed pot, so help yourselves to it. :caf

Here the winds are getting stronger by the hour and more winter storms are predicted to start this late afternoon/evening.
It is really getting old after the two entire weeks of non-stop winter gales with ongoing rains we just experienced. :duc

48° here with 1" of rain today, 34° and 4" of snow tomorrow.
Mid-40s here. Feels nice. But the driveway is water-on-ice, and treacherous. Glad I don't have to go anywhere.

My stepdad had a 5-6 foot long iron spike. I couldn't imagine why he hung onto that thing. But I sure wish I had it now. It was great for punching a hole in the ice.

Good morning and thanks for the hot coffee! Our little bit of snow predicted for todayandnight is growing as well. Our high is 25F but dropping into single digits with a foot of snow coming down. Tomorrow, State starts, of course :he, so I guess the drive will be fun. DS$ seems to be having a nicer time with this adventure to State than the last 3 times and I think it is because his workout buddy is also going and competing and he is more mentally mature to handle any weirdisoms that people say. His coach has also matured over the past 4 years, which is what I was also hoping for.

Wishing you good luck, both for driving and the wrestling tournament, @Mtn Margie ! Mental maturity sure plays an important part, so fingers crossed that he will win again!

Just heard the radio issuing more warnings and adding nastiness to the previous announcement: Even more/ongoing extreme winter storms expected for at least the next few days, including the next weekend as well.

And to top it all off, they found dead buzzards with Avian Influenza just two villages away from us. So the actual flock-down will go on for at least another month or two.:barnie

I have an ice spud, big pole with 2-3" wide blade at bottom.
I find the flat shovel works better tho, just wish it had a longer handle.
