I thought it was a beautiful display of respect for the owl. Treating the bumblefoot was just awesome. And the wild owl just let them do it! Amazing.
Most people on this site spew venom at the various predators that target their chickens for their next meal. They all talk bumkin speak about "shootin' all them thar varmits, dagnabit!" It's our responsibility to protect our birds. You can't hate an animal for being born/hatched what it is.

Was pretty surprising he got it out with just his finger(nails?)!
And was amazing that the bird didn't fight him while untangling from the netting...

The pathogen that causes bumblefoot is Staphylococcus. He should have been wearing gloves, if he didn't.

Finn is a cutie! The look on big brother's face seems to indicate he's not made up his mind about little brother in his bed though.

Thank you, Margie. They really love oneanother, thankfully! They spend hours playing with Ollie rolling on his back and Finn on top feeling like a champ. And Ollie helps with teaching him manners and keeping him in line.

Yes, he is already 12 weeks old tomorrow and two weeks with us! Today he learned how to bark on command.
