Afternoon, Cafe! Power and phone are back on. I think the winds were stronger than expected! DH and I were stringing up extension cords from the generator to the coffee pot, first, and then to Starlink so that we could watch DS$'s first college match in an intra-squad dual, which he won. Next week is the first tournament.
Congrats, DL! She looks very sweet!

Hey Good Afternoon Cafe. Was off moving money yesterday did a few stores for food.
Toady I paid most the bills for the month..
Rained bucket yesterday seems allot quieter so far today.
We needed rain but decided we had enough to last rest the year.
I do not think Mother Nature is listening ?

Very windy today, periods of rain, but still in the low-to-mid 60s. We got some indoor and garage projects done.

We're cleaning out one of the closets in the mudroom, to make it into a pantry. We've talked about that for years. Now that DH is retired, it could happen.

Come spring I intend to use the little coop for pullets. Maybe 6 or 8?
Many of mine are getting past the age of daily eggs.

So. After being denied another two dogs I applied for (one because I have no fenced in yard (really, how many people actually have a fenced in yard??) and again, because I have a "large" dog (grrr!)), I have done the unthinkable and put a deposit down on a PUPPY from a Min Pin breeder in MO!!

I am having the breeder get her ears cropped by her trusted vet and she will stay with the breeder and her mother until 12 weeks old. I want her to have more training from her mother. And I paid a little extra for the breeder to start puppy pad training her with the pad in a small crate for her to learn to pee on it in there as well as working on her outside potty training.
There is no way a Min Pin is going to be able to hold it long enough for me to get home from work even with the mid-day potty breaks my dogs get so I want her pad trained too. Fuji would often miss the pad. If it's in a small crate with the door left open, it will be impossible to miss.
I've asked the breeder to change her name to Piper. In honor of the Min Pin I saw in VT that lit this flame inside me.
I should have her the week before Christmas!
I haven't been this excited about something is probably a decade.

It is 65 out this morning!! And going up into the low 70s today. It hit 78 yesterday.
So far, I have to say I think all the woolly prognosticators claiming we are going to have a COLD winter are full of crap.

Whoa! You have just issued a challenge out there to the girls... they may not like that...
Happy morning, Cafe! No wind this morning and hanging around freezing.
We had to head south and help a friend figure out how to defend her pony- little small older pony, from a mountain lion that has been staking out and waiting for a good time. The lion has taken multiple dogs on leashes and out of fences, two owners managed to fight it off, and no one called DOW! (or shot it.) So when my friend called them with the situation, they were alarmed saying that is a bad cat and something is wrong. She now has rubber rounds that the DOW gave her and lethal rounds and does know how to shoot. She can't keep the pony walled up forever- (we did a good job) or she might as well shoot it instead... lol. DH and I decided to go out to dinner just because we were in town and it was getting late and why not. Snow flurries today.
