Lots of highways closed in this part of Michigan too.

I was VERY happy to hear that two of my friends were told to take the day off from work.

Several years ago, we three worked together. The manager told us he had to have us (everyone) there he had to have us in the next day. DH (he worked there too) drove home and got our dog, brought her back, and we spent the night in the lunchroom. A couple people spent the night one someone's couch.

Thank goodness those days are over.

But the power is on!! I am so grateful.
Me too!
The rain switched over to blowing snow around 11. I dashed out for some last minute items and now we're all snuggled up in our warm cozy house.
I wanted to swing in real fast to give DH a hug and kiss and tell him I miss him but it's never fast getting in there. I'll see him on Christmas day.
I finally caved and bought a pair of black leggings. They'll go with just about anything and sure are comfortable. I walked down to the end of the driveway to get my delivery wearing them, a sweater and coat and my bare feet in my coop crocks. Lazy driver couldn't be bothered to come up the driveway and leave the package on my porch like most do. There might be 1" of snow on the driveway. I shoveled yesterday.

I hate buying things for others at any celebration unless I know they want it because they mentioned it but said they couldn't justify buying it or specifically gave me a list.
This year I've purchased three gift cards and three gifts.
I will be buying shirts at the Salvation Army for one of my nephews. I shop there for myself and save a boat load of money and it's fun finding great deals. I am also giving him 5 cards for free cooking lessons with the recipe written on the card. Now, he'll likely hate this for a gift and may very well never "cash them in" but this guy is 32 years old today and doesn't have a clue how to adult. He has never lived independently and has never been taught the basics of running his life and what it takes to be a responsible adult. He doesn't know how to meal plan or cook a decent meal, do laundry properly, properly spend his money. My BIL had to put a spreadsheet together to show how he was wasting an average of $1,000 month on vending machine food!!! Can you imagine? And his car is going to need to be replaced soon. WTF? He could have saved enough money over the last year to buy a nice car with that kind of money.
I digress. I'm getting myself worked up. I'm going to stop right there. :barnie
Seems like the current generation has no clue how to live life as an adult.

They tried to get me and my family and pets to stay at the hospital i worked at during a hurricane so i could be there to work. My kids were young then. Not doing that.

The little nugget is learning slowly how to be with Skittles.
