BYC Café

My friend who lives down on the flatlands right by the foothills said that the winds were crazy enough to blow the roof and rafters off a section of the barn and that spooked the bulls to the east side of their pasture. The irrigation pipes took off into the air, looking like white straws going by and that spooked the cows and calves, which stampeded to the north end of the ranch. I guess all of the critters are accounted for but there is a lot of clean-up.
He has asked for help when it stops snowing/ blowing/ and warms up some after this next go-round. LOL!

That's some awful storm and scary damage for your neighbor @Mtn Margie!

We just had a weird storm here. It started with howling winds and a Doberman glued to my leg as I prepared my lunch.
Got dark then started to pour down rain which quickly turned to fat, fluffy sleet with thunder rumbling and the occasional lighting flash in the distance.

Yes, I am over the Winter weather! I think I already said that about a month ago...
I am cooking a turkey that was taking up space in the freezer so we will be set for whatever this stupid storm brings. The paddocks are cleaned and waters topped off. The chickens have spent the day wandering around eating whatever goodies blew down. We lost power and phone yesterday for a few hours and I cooked dinner on the woodstove, so a cooked turkey will be nice to have as a snack if the power goes out again. Ahhh, fun times!

Helllooooo! I’m back 🙂

Very thankful to be back in the cold weather here in Canada. Haha. Most days were 35 Celsius (95 F) plus humidity out at sea! And I either got food poisoning or the stomach flu on the trip home - hopefully will never repeat that 😄

I’ll share more photos in the coming days, but here’s one as well as an updated photo of Buoy and Salt!
