I have to "move" a floor joist. It started out with me planning on getting an offset toilet flange. Until I drilled through the subfloor to see where the shower drain needs to go and it's center will be right on the edge of a joist but on the opposite side of the joist from the toilet and vent stack. BUT there is an extra joist near the one I need to "move". I'm actually going to just install a new joist 17" OC to the right of the extra one then hack out part of the one that is in my way and leave the rest in place as it is nailed to the floor above it. This way all the drain will be in the same bay.

I just sold 16 buckets of chicken doody! I was only asking $1.50 a bucket but the couple was so happy with it and all the other tips I gave them the wife gave me $30 and they want to come back for more. At this point, the chickens have covered 54% of their expenses this year. I really should be including the cost of the eggs I eat because I don't buy eggs.

I made my very first angel food cake at 63. Proves this old dog can still learn.

The cake came out great Penny! What are you going to serve with it?

I ended up moving a partition wall in the master bathroom. Which then made the recessed light I had put in the alcove 7 years ago way off center. If I don't move it to center, I will end up in the booby hatch if I have to look at that for the rest of my life.
I had a hell of a time trying to get the clips to disengage. But I also sealed around the unit with spray foam before blowing in the attic insulation. I ended up mangling the housing. No worries. I have another one! But I also mangled the ceiling in my fit to get that damn thing OUT!!! So I am going to hack a chunk of the ceiling out tomorrow morning.
Keeping most of the blown-in insulation from falling out in my face will be such fun! :wee
