You can make fingerpaint and put them in the tub to paint the walls. I did that a few times for something different. When they were older, I would let them fingerpaint my old grey mare and then give her a bath when they were done. Creative controlled chaos, the ART of parenting!!!!
I think today is burn the slash piles day and then maybe cook some chili on the coals. Sounds like a plan anyway......

Finger paint is not a bad idea. I have not tried to make it before, I will look that up.

Mornin' gang!

Getting stuck in the house with little ones can get challenging, that's for sure. You sometimes have to get really creative to keep them from getting too creative and creating more chores for you.

Cloudy and gray today, though no rain in the forecast until maybe tomorrow. This time of year, rain is a kinda "believe it when you see it" thing. I've been watching BB2K put some time in with Latte. Mostly positive, though there were a few moments that reminded us why we call that horse the Big Blonde Brat. Kudos to my kiddo - she stayed cool and focused, kept the lesson on track, and got the horse to do what she wanted (eventually) without major blow-ups. A little bit like that expression "a bad day fishing beats a good day at the office," any time spent with a horse is good, but when the animal cooperates, it's even better!

Lol apparently DH is still incapable of telling thing 1 no. She just talked him into letting her ride along to go to the 4 wheeler dealership, they are repairing one of ours. I admit my life just got easier today, but someday this is going to bite me in the rear (Probably when shoes start being more important than kittens)

Morning! Snowing, but not heavy. We got just a few inches yesterday, nothing major. I was up at 3AM, checking and feeding, nothing major there either.
Coffee is in order. I did go back to bed, but the waiting and wondering is coffee worthy.
Hope the snow stays to a minimum....and you find spring by July, lol. Sounds like your ewes are enjoying keeping you guessing.

Barr, sounds cold. Glad it is letting up, and hopefully this is the last big snow you get.
We are wet here. DH and I debated getting the 2 month old chicks outside today. As wet as it is I said we would wait a few hours and see. It is 43 degrees out and misting, not really healthy weather for birds or babies. Looks like I will be making play dough today and everyone will be force to stay indoors.

Rainy and cold here too - so, of course, guess who got to do ALL the VIN checks at work this morning. This is the downside to being the new person, I can't run my own station yet without supervision from a training supervisor so days like today it's easier to have me be the gopher for everyone else - all the vision checks, pictures, scanning to the central server and VIN checks become my job......wouldn't have been that bad, but my umbrella was sitting at home vs. with me at work

So true. Major kudos to your kiddo - it's amazing to see them come through, often going above and beyond what we would have been capable of? DD has come through things that would have found me crying in a corner with the bravest smile and cool head.......the things she has been able to accomplish with her mare never cease to amaze me.

Don't fret too much, that was very much myself and my daddy growing up - but know that when it really mattered he was capable of saying no.

I have one ewe looking more uncomfortable....., I wonder...... She is a first-timer so I don't know if she is just over it or starting to think about lambing....
Lots of fresh straw down in the huts and still snowing, of course!
