Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready. Back to work this week. It's going to be hot and stormy all week.

I think we are going to have dry and hot weather all week. I need to get more mulch down.

I got a delivery today.
Left on the front porch... like usual.
I opened the door to go get it while the dogs were out back going potty.
I bent over and grabbed the boxes and was about to close the door when motion in the living room caught my eye.
Motion? The dogs are outside.
There on the edge of my area rug sat the bewildered looking junco mom. Oh goody. I get to chase a junco out of the house. Please don't poop all over my kitchen!
As I was trying to flush her out, she crashed into the patio door (close the curtain) then the living room window (close THAT curtain) then Bella started up the front steps to come in. CRAP! Close the door in her face.
Chase junco back out of the kitchen. She lands on my living room chair. I slowly get to the door and get it open then I back away. She makes her break for it and out she goes.
What a PITA!

We had a hummingbird in our oceanside house in Nova Scotia! We had a habit of leaving the doors open so the breeze could blow through.

I went rock hunting in the river we live on today. Wore the new wading shoes hubby bought me, but the soles were too flimsy so my feet will be hurting tomorrow from walking on rocks. Sigh.

Good afternoon, Cafe!

I brought a freshly brewed pot as I drained @DobieLover 's in one big gulp.

We have lots of blackbirds living in our garden and they love to build their nests as close as possible to our house and workshop. They don't seem to mind the amount of traffic, in fact they appear to be drawn to it probably hoping it will deter their enemies.

Another scorching hot day here in Germany, it is getting hotter and more humid by the minute

Our Christmas wreath is still hanging on the wall as we come in from the mudroom. DW keeps misting it, we are surprised it didn't drop all the needles long ago.

Is this some kind of scientific project or do you have birds nesting in there?

I have two of five hens on hiatus. Widget is "sort of" broody. So nowhere near enough eggs to think about making a frittata.

Widget, ah widget... Making her "bup-bup-bup" noise, roosting in the nest box. But then I see her out and about during the day. And I think she has laid an egg each of the past few days, but I'm not sure. They look like her eggs, anyway.

Is this some kind of scientific project or do you have birds nesting in there?

Neither! No birds in the house (most of the time and we do get them out as soon as possible). We just can't throw anything away that isn't falling apart (and probably a lot of stuff that should have been thrown out long ago).
